Last week we started doing some naked potty training time. Just 30-60 minutes here and there as Ayden would tolerate. On Sunday (January 23rd, 2011) we did a full day of naked potty training with NO accidents! So Monday I continued the potty training and told him that if he could fill his potty chart with stickers Monday and Tuesday that we would go out and let him pick out new big boy underwear. By noon Ayden wanted to put on big boy underwear! So I pulled out the few that I had and he tried on a couple of them trying to figure out which one he liked best.
After he figured out which one he was going to wear he tried to talk Levi into wearing some, I explained to him that Levi was a baby and that babies had to wear diapers, but that Ayden was a big boy and that big boys wear big boy underwear. He said "Oh, Levi you wear diapers?" I said ''yeah, he wears diapers'' and then Ayden said "Levi not wear diapers... (turned to Levi) You use the potty? Levi wanna be a big boy??? YES???'' I couldn't help but chuckle. I love that he was trying to talk Levi into being a big boy like him....Levi is FAR from ready though :(
Monday he put about 18 stickers on his chart. Tuesday he did more than his 7 as well...So when Darrel got home we took Ayden out to dinner to celebrate. We put a diaper on him before we left because we are not 100% he can do it away from home. During dinner he told us he had to go potty so Darrel took him to the bathroom and he peed!!!!! We were SO PROUD!!!
We took him to the store to get new big boy underwear, the whole week he had been saying that he wanted Spongebob Squarepants underwear but when we got there he decided that he wanted to get more Lightning McQueen underwear <3 The kid knows what he likes. HAHA
While we were at the store I had to go potty and he tried then, and later he tried a second time...He didnt go either of those times. About 5 minutes after the second trip to the potty he told us he had to go potty but we didnt get him there fast enough. DARN! We still gave him a TON of praise because he had told us that he had to go...it wasnt his fault that he didnt make it! He is still learning, and we are learning with him.
We are incredibly proud of Ayden! We are really proud of ourselves too! Potty training is hard work. But in a strange way it is pulling all of us together <3
It has really been over a year...oops :/
